2022 World Cup. Rival in the playoff finals: who in the Welsh team is preparing for the match with Ukraine

The Welsh national team lost to Poland in the opening match of the third draw of the League of Nations yesterday and continues to prepare for the final of the playoffs for the 2022 World Cup.

Acting Welsh head coach Rob Page is holding a training camp in Cardiff with 28 performers.

The composition of the Welsh national team

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessy (Burnley, England), Danny Ward (Leicester, England), Adam Davis (Sheffield United, England).

Defenders: Ben Davis, Joe Rodon (both Tottenham, England), Chris Mefam (Bournemouth, England), Chris Hunter (without club), Rice Norrington-Davis (Sheffield United, England), Connor Roberts (Burnley, England), Neco Williams (Liverpool, England).

Midfielders: Joe Allen (Stoke City, England), Joe Morrell (Portsmouth, England), Ethan Ampadou (Venice, Italy), Matthew Smith (Doncaster Rovers, England), Aaron Ramsey (Rangers, Scotland), Dylan Levitt (Manchester United, England), Harry Wilson (Fulham, England), Daniel James (Leeds, England), Wesley Burns (Ipswich, England) .

The main stars of the team are Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale and Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey. Goalkeeper Danny Ward and forward Kiffer Moore have returned to the national team after injuries. Striker Nathan Broadhead of Sunderland and midfielder Wesley Burns of Ipswich have received their first call-up to the Dragons' camp.

Yesterday in Wroclaw, the Welsh national team held its opening match of the League of Nations against Poland. It ended in failure for Rob Page's wards. The Welsh opened the scoring, but eventually lost - 1: 2.

League of Nations. Group round. Group A4

Poland - Wales - 2:1 (0:0)

Goals: Kaminski (72), Sviderski (85) - D. Williams (52).

Wales: Ward (Hennessy, 46), Norrington-Davis, Mefam, Hunter, D. Williams (Thomas, 77), Burns (N. Williams, 61), Smith, Morrell, Levitt, James (Matondo, 46), Moore, Harris, 46).

It is clear that the coach of the Welsh team on the eve of the match for the World Cup gave rest to some leading performers, including Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. Instead, the players of the nearest reserve, such as Wesley Burns, who made his debut in the national team, got a chance.

It will be recalled that the final match of the playoffs for the 2022 World Cup between the national teams of Wales and Ukraine will take place on June 5 in Cardiff (the meeting will start at 19.00 Kyiv time).
