Euro-2022 (U-19): Ukraine's youth national team draws with Serbia in elite qualifying round
Today in the Dutch town of Alfen an en Rhein Vladimir Yezersky's wards played the second match of the elite qualifying round of Euro-2022 (U-19).
In the first round of the elite round of selection of Euro-2022, the youth national team of Ukraine U-19 (players not older than 2003 born) defeated the team of Norway - 3:2 and today, as the group's leader, she met with Serbia.
Both teams started the match carefully, no one wanted to take risks. Suffice it to say that the first shot on goal was scored in the 14th minute. Kozik's shot was blocked, but the Ukrainians moved forward. Tsarenko tried to hit the target twice. But, unfortunately, the ball flew into the gates of Ukraine. Ilyich scored the goal in the 18th minute. However, this did not embarrass the wards of Volodymyr Yezersky, who leveled the score in the 22nd minute. After that, the game went back to normal, as opponents realized that the cost of error is very high. Therefore, before the break, goal moments, in fact, did not arise.
In the debut of the second half, the Serbs increased the pace, the game began to take place in more than half of the field of Ukrainians. However, the blue-yellows acted reliably in defense, trying to counterattack dangerously. The end of the meeting was a nervous struggle, fighting qualities came to the fore, and in this component, the Ukrainian players did not concede to the opponent. 1: 1.
It will be recalled that in order to reach the final tournament, the Ukrainians need to take first place in the group.
