Serhiy Sapronov: "We will look for reinforcements on the left flank of the defense and in the attack"

The place and terms of the qualifying matches for the European Championship-2022/2023 (WU-17) have been determined in group A6, where the national teams of Ukraine, Denmark, England and Estonia will play.

- The matches will take place on October 7, 10 and 13 in Estonia, - said the head coach of the Ukrainian national team WU-17 Sergei Sapronov in a comment to the official website of the UAF.

- I remember that in the previous qualifying round of the continental championship your wards had to clarify relations with the Estonians in the capital of this country.

- Yes, and then, in October last year, in the final round we managed to celebrate Victoria and get a ticket to the elite division. However, in fairness, it should be said that even then a large group of 16-year-old football players was the host, because it was already known that the final part of Euro-2022/2023 (WU-17) will be hosted by Estonia. Therefore, the Estonians reviewed the nearest reserve.

- Then specify what personnel schedules in the national team of Ukraine.

- Compared to the previous cycle, I can't count on eight players born in 2005 at once. Most of them will join the WU-19 national team, which is waiting for the qualifying tournament for the European Championship in Israel in November. The difficulty is that due to Russia's aggression, competitions are not held in Ukraine this year, and now it is difficult to say where the candidates for the national team are. In the near future, my assistants, Lyudmyla Lemeshko, Mykola Sydorchuk and Oleksandr Mytko, and I are going to find out.

- In your opinion, who will apply for the role of leaders?

- Goalkeeper Eva Raenko, midfielders Victoria Shevtsova and Anastasia Stakhnyuk. Positions on the left flank and in attack remain problematic. However, there is still time to find reinforcements.

- Then the last question: what can your wards expect in Estonia?

- It is important not to finish last in the group tournament, which will keep the residence permit in the elite division.
