The head coach of the national women's national team of Ukraine Luis Cortes commented victory over Hungary (2:0) in the 2023 World Cup qualifying match and noted that the entire team and fans of the blue and yellow deserved it.

It was 15 days of hard work here in Rzeszow. The match with Scotland did not go as we expected. But today the girls from the first minute fought for every ball in every duel. This brought us victory.
The fight was not easy for us. If the debut of the match against Scotland was unsuccessful for us, today the girls started concentrated. Maybe Ukraine did not have much possession, but at any moment of the game the girls understood what was required of them. They attacked the space well behind the Hungarian line of defense. They also played hard in defense.
We prepared very well for this match. We had a lot of information about the opponent. We knew everything about Hungary players. Today our footballers did what we planned. The team followed the game plan from the first to the last minute. This is the only way to win such important matches, because Hungary is a good team. We won a real battle.
When the war broke out, all players were forced to leave the country and start playing in foreign clubs. The UAF is currently evaluating the possibility of resuming competitions in Ukraine. There is no final decision yet. We do not know what awaits our players. They are currently on vacation. But we hope to learn something about next season as soon as possible. Because the players have to decide where they will play in the future", - the Spanish specialist said at the post-match press conference.

The three winners of the first round and the three teams that advanced directly to the second stage will determine the three winners of the UEFA playoffs in one-match duels.
The two winners of the second-ranked UEFA playoffs (criteria applied to the results of the group stage plus the playoffs of the second round) will receive two automatic places at the 2023 World Cup, while the third winner will continue his journey in the intercontinental playoffs.
