Euro-2022 in women's futsal. The Ukrainian national team lost to the Spanish team in the semi-finals
Oleg Shaitanov's wards lost to the reigning European champion, Spain, in the Euro-2022 women's futsal semifinals.
The Ukrainian women started preparing for the final tournament on June 3. Our team for a month conducted training in San Marino, Italy, France and Portugal, which is the host of Euro-2022. During this period, the blue-yellow team played four sparring matches, including against the national teams of Italy and Portugal.
Ukrainian women made it to the European Championship for the second time, and the competition is again hosted by the Portuguese Gondomar. The final tournament was supposed to take place in March of this year, but after consultations and obtaining the consent of the football association of the host country, it was postponed to July.

The rival of the blue and yellows in the semifinals of the competition was the current European champion - the Spanish national team. Oleg Shaitanov's wards have already met with this team in two friendly matches, which took place in Buch at the "Sports Academy" on January 18-19. Then our girls conceded twice - 0:7 and 1:3.
Already in the 1st minute of the semi-final meeting, the Spaniards took the lead — Maite scored after a mistake by the Ukrainians. Later, the Pyrenees made a few more shots at our goal. In the 4th minute, Hrytsenko made a dangerous shot, but the opponent's goalkeeper managed to save, Forsyuk and Ruban were also remembered for their attempts.

Later, the initiative was completely taken over by the Spaniards. In the 8th minute, after a cool combination, Lusi closed the far post and doubled the advantage of her opponents. Then Kislova repeatedly helped our team. In the 17th minute, the blue-yellow team had two chances to tie the score, but Forsyuk's shot was saved by the goalkeeper, and Dubytskyi's accuracy was not enough.
Shortly before the break, Claudia Pons's wards scored twice more. First, Irene Córdoba technically turned around and tipped over Kislova, and later Peque completed the free kick with an accurate shot.

The Spaniards had the initiative for most of the second half, regularly forcing Kyslova into the game. In the 28th minute, the opponents scored twice more - in the counterattack, de Paz scored a well-hit shot, and after a corner, Lusi made a double. Later, the Spanish women scored three more times, while the Ukrainian women did not manage to wet the score.
After the defeat in the semi-finals, our team will face Hungary or Portugal for the third place, which will take place on Sunday, July 3 (starting at 16.30:XNUMX p.m. Kyiv time).
