In the final match of the European Women's Futsal Championship 2022, the Spanish national team defeated Portugal in a penalty shootout.
In the decisive match of the second in the history of the continental championship, two Pyrenean teams met. The day before, the Spanish team defeated the Ukrainian national team in the semi-finals (9:0), and the Portuguese defeated Hungary (6:0).
It should be noted that Portugal and Spain also played in the finals at Euro-2019, and then the tournament was also held in Gondomar, Portugal. And, like three years ago, this year the victory was celebrated by "Furia Roha". During the meeting, the hosts led with a two-goal advantage, but the Spaniards managed to take the game into extra time. In overtime, the teams exchanged goals, and the Portuguese missed three double penalties. And only in the series of post-match penalties, the Spaniards were stronger - 4:1.
