"This is the moment when your dream comes true!" Kateryna Monzul is ready for one of the most important matches in her refereeing career

Today, Ukrainian referee Kateryna Monzul will conduct the final match of the Women's European Championship 2022 between England and Germany.

UEFA official website emphasizes, that this appointment is an important recognition of the professional qualities of our compatriot against the background of many difficult events of the current year. Today's match at Wembley will be a worthy addition to judge's resume of Kateryna Monzul, which includes the 2015 Women's World Cup Final and the 2014 Women's Champions League Final.

In addition, the final match between England and Germany will be the fourth match of the Ukrainian women at Euro-2022. She served as the main referee for two group stage matches, Spain v Finland (Group B) and Austria v Norway (Group A), as well as the Sweden v Belgium quarter-final.

Kateryna herself is sure that her vast experience of refereeing at prestigious tournaments in both women's and men's football will serve her well in the bright atmosphere of the final.

"Probably, this will be the most attended match among those I have refereed. But as soon as the game starts, you forget about what's going on around you and focus on refereeing. However, this is a really emotional moment for me. This is the moment when your dream comes true," said Monzul.

Kateryna Monzul's company at Wembley will be made up of an experienced team. The duties of the linesmen will be performed by Maryna Striletska (Ukraine) and Paulina Baranowska (Poland). The fourth referee is Stephanie Frappard (France). The referee of the VAR system is Paolo Valeri (Italy). The assistant referee of the VAR system is Maurizio Mariani (Italy).
