Dear football family, friends! We sincerely congratulate you on the Independence Day of Ukraine!
In the days of difficult tests for our state, we realize more than ever before how valuable independence is for every free person. Today, Ukraine and millions of our citizens are paying a very high price for its preservation. At the same time, we demonstrate extremely high unity and mutual support, courage and readiness to fight for victory for every piece of our land.
Today, Ukraine is an example for the entire free world. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are a model of heroism on the battlefield. The entire Ukrainian people and our numerous diaspora around the world are a symbol of indomitability and daily painstaking work for victory in the decisive war for independence. I am proud that our football community is an active participant in the defense of our native Ukraine on all fronts!
Football players, referees, coaches, managers, administrators and doctors of football teams have joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, participate in the volunteer movement, help refugees and football veterans. Since the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, the Coordination Center of the Ukrainian Football Association and humanitarian hubs of regional associations have been working. Together with the support of our foreign partners, UEFA and FIFA, we help in the evacuation of thousands of young football players from the combat zone, we provide assistance to forced migrants, military personnel and doctors. At the same time, they worked together to preserve and revive their beloved football.
Together, with the support of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Youth Sports, the UPL, the PFL and local authorities, we launched a special championship of Ukraine for the 2022/2023 season, a football championship in conditions of full-scale war and against war. Football supports and inspires our military and millions of fans. And football will be one of the tools to achieve our victory! Because we all have the same courage!
