The Ukrainian beach soccer team started the selection for the 2023 World Beach Games with a victory

Today, the Ukrainian beach soccer team started in the European selection for the 2023 World Beach Games.

In Catania, Sicily, Mykola Kostenko's wards started the fight for a ticket to the 2023 World Beach Games. The national team of Ukraine met with the team of Azerbaijan, which the day before lost to Switzerland - 4:7.

The blue-yellow team opened the scoring in the 3rd minute thanks to the efforts of Oleh Zborovsky. Despite the fact that Mammadov restored the balance, the teams went to the first break with a minimal advantage of the Ukrainians. The double was made by Zborovsky.

In the second 12-minute period, the Azerbaijanis fought back again, but Taras Kovalenko and Yurii Shcheritsa scored two more goals — 4:2.

The third period seemed to be the most tense. When Dmytro Voytenko proved the superiority of the blue-yellow team to three goals, it seemed that the matter was done. However, the opponent thought differently and managed to reduce the gap to a minimum. The last seconds of the match were very nervous, but the Ukrainians persevered.

In the end, it was 5:4 in favor of the Ukrainian national team, which thus secured a place in the quarterfinals.
