The Ukrainian women's beach soccer team lost at the start of the World Beach Games qualification
Today, the women's beach soccer team of Ukraine started qualifying for the 2023 World Beach Games.
The opponent of the blue-yellow team in the first match of the competition was the Swiss national team - the seventh team in the world ranking.
The first period started poorly for Yuriy Klymenko's wards. The Swiss goalkeeper Christine Scherer managed to put the ball over Anastasia Terech. However, in three minutes, Iryna Dubytska equalized the score with a jewel shot from the goal post. However, a minute before the first break, Sarah Garcia again put our rivals ahead from a corner - 2:1.
The beginning of the second 12-minute period was pleasing - Yuliya Dekhtyar scored a good shot from a long distance - 2:2. Moreover, in the 18th minute, Anastasia Terek shot from the center of the field into the net, and the Ukrainians took the lead. However, the opponent was not going to give up and within a minute Pascal Küffer won the match - 3:3.
In the third period, the scales again swung in the direction of Switzerland. At first, an unsuccessful bounce from the sand allowed Scherer to complete a double, and soon Garcia repeated her achievement with a bicycle kick. 5:3.
