The women's beach soccer team of Ukraine won a ticket to the 2023 World Beach Games in Bali

The women's beach soccer team of Ukraine played the third match in the 2023 World Beach Games qualifying.

After the defeat in the first match against the Swiss national team (3:5) and a sensational victory in the second over the Spanish team (2:1) today, in a decisive match in Group B, the Ukrainian national team met Sweden. 

Yuriy Klymenko's wards spent the first period very successfully. In the 6th minute, Snizhana Volovenko, and in the 11th minute, Yuliya Dekhtyar provided our team with a fairly comfortable advantage - 2:0.

In the second 12-minute period, the Swedish national team was able to reduce the deficit thanks to the efforts of Kaisa, but Yulia Dekhtyar scored a double before the end of the period and again established the previous gap, and in the last seconds before the break, Myroslava Vypasniak increased it to 4:1.

When in the third period, at the 28th minute, Anastasia Klipachenko scored the fifth goal against our rivals, the fate of the match was actually decided. Tuva's goal in four minutes only sweetened the pill for the Swedish team. In the end, it was 5:2 — a victory for the Ukrainian women.

This success allowed the women's team of Ukraine to score six points and reach the semifinals of the tournament, which automatically provides our team with a ticket to the World Beach Games, which will be held from August 6 to 12, 2023 in Bali, Indonesia.

World Beach Games 2023

It will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from August 6 to 12, 2023. There will be 16 teams in the men's final tournament and 12 in the women's final. Five continental qualifiers are scheduled to take place until July 2, 2023, with the top teams earning a spot at the World Beach Games.

CONMEBOL (South America) — 3 teams;

CAF (Africa) — 2 teams;

CONCACAF (North and Central America) — 2 teams;

AFC (Asia) and AFC (Oceania) — 2 teams.

In addition, the finals of the 2023 World Beach Games will feature the Indonesian men's and women's national teams as hosts, as well as one specially invited team each that did not take part in the qualifying tournaments. 

If a participant's National Olympic Committee withdraws or does not confirm their participation by July 2, 2023, that tournament spot will be awarded to the next highest-ranked team on the continent.

If the continental selection tournament does not take place by July 2, 2023, then the world ranking of beach soccer as of July 1, 2023 will be used to determine the participating teams.

Let's add that the current winners of the World Beach Games are the teams of Brazil (for men) and Spain (for women), who won the 2019 titles in Qatar.
