"Our goal is to take advantage of the weaknesses in the opponent's game": players of the women's national team of Ukraine - about the World Cup 2023 selection match with Spain

Football players of the national women's team of Ukraine, Yana Kalinin and Natia Pantsulaya, gave pre-match comments on the eve of the final game of the 2023 World Cup selection, away from Spain.

The women's national team of Ukraine will play against the Spanish team today, September 6. The game with the Pyrenees will be held in Madrid on the field of Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas - the Center of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (starting at 22.00 Kyiv time).

Yana Kalinin: "The team is in good shape for the match against Spain. We prepared well for this meeting, and the victory over the Faroes added to the mood. We have to show a good game.

The national team of Ukraine has always been famous for its character and team actions. We won a lot of matches because of it. We will fight and, I think, we will be able to show good football. We will see what the result will be later.

We had a good qualification. But it is unfortunate that we are not satisfied with the current situation in the table. Everything was decided by a failure in the home match with Scotland. I believe that in future selection cycles we will show a better result."

Natia Pantsulaya: "The national team of Ukraine approaches the match with Spain with full responsibility. This is a very important match and it doesn't matter where we are in our group. It is necessary to hold this meeting as well as possible.

The Spaniards have updated their squad, but it is unlikely that this will greatly affect their game. They have a very high level of football. But we are working and ready for this match.

Every team has some weaknesses. Spain is no exception. Our goal is to use them."

It should be noted that the Royal Spanish Football Federation will hold a social event in support of Ukraine during the match between Spain and Ukraine.

At the beginning of the war, the Spanish government, through the Ministry of Integration and Social Security, initiated a program to help and care for refugees who arrived as a result of hostilities in Ukraine.

Thanks to this promotion, some of these people will be able to support our national team.

There will be about a hundred Ukrainians at the match. In addition, Ukrainian children will be present at the game to accompany the players at the beginning of the match.
