Futsal Euro-2022 (U-19) is underway in Jaen, Spain. The youth national team of Ukraine continued its performance in the final tournament with a semi-final match against Portugal.
In the meetings of the group stage, Vitaliy Odegov's wards won against Croatia (6:4) and Romania (5:2), and also drew with Spain (2:2). The blue and yellow finished second in their quartet, so they met Group B winners Portugal in the semi-finals.
On the way to the top four, the opponents of the Ukrainians beat Poland (4:2), France (2:1) and Italy (6:1). By the way, at the last Euro-2019 (U-19), the Portuguese also reached the semifinals, where they lost to Croatia (2:2, pen. 2:3).

Unfortunately, the Portuguese opened the scoring in the 3rd minute: Diogo Santos scored after a standard draw. In the future, the Pyrenees had many more opportunities to stand out (Rafael, Kutchi, Pedro Santos, Ruben), but the opponent's goalkeeper doubled the advantage. The coach of our team, Vitaliy Odegov, decided to take a risk and replaced the goalkeeper with a field performer, which Thiago Velho took advantage of. The Ukrainians responded with counterattacks, in particular, Dychuk could score.
After the break, the Portuguese, against the background of mistakes by our boys, developed success with the efforts of Simao and Kutchi. Skibchyk's goal only dampened the score.
As a result, the youth national team of Ukraine lost to Portugal - 1:4, stopping one step before the final. In any case, a very decent result.
