The England national team, which is Ukraine's opponent in the Euro-2024 qualifiers, made a bright start at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. 

Today, in the first match of group B of the group round of the 2022 World Cup, the England team met with the Iran team in Doha at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Gareth Southgate's wards immediately seized the initiative and began to storm the Iranian redoubts, which lasted 35 minutes. They were significantly weakened by the loss of the goalkeeper, Alireza Beiranvand, who was injured and had to leave the field in the 20th minute.

And on the 35th, Jude Bellingham jumped higher than everyone else in the opponents' penalty area and opened the scoring with a header. Even before the break, the English could be said to have decided the fate of the match. First, Bukayo Saka and then Raheem Sterling headed two more goals into the goal of substitute Hossein Hosseini.

In the second half, the situation on the field did not fundamentally change. Gareth Southgate's men continued to attack and upset the Iranian goalkeeper three more times with efforts from Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish. The opponents managed to respond with two well-hit shots by Mehdi Taremi. So 6:2 in favor of the "Three Lions".
