Officially. Refutation: the information about the preparation of an extraordinary UAF Congress on December 20 is not true

Today in a number of mass media there were reports about the alleged preparation for the extraordinary Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association on December 20, 2022. However, this information is not true.

We would like to remind you that the next report-election XXV Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association was scheduled for March 5, 2022. However, as a result of the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation and the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, the Executive Committee of the UAF decided to postpone the XXV regular reporting and election Congress of the UAF and to determine the date of its holding after the abolition of the martial law regime in Ukraine.

In addition, on September 5, the Pechersk District Court of the city of Kyiv issued a decision prohibiting the UAF from taking actions related to the preparation, holding and consideration at the XNUMXth reporting and election Congress of the UAF of the agenda items in the part of the election of the UAF president, first vice-presidents, vice-presidents, members Executive Committee and Auditing Body of UAF.

Thus, as of today, holding the next XXV reporting-election Congress of the UAF is possible only after the cancellation of the martial law regime in Ukraine and the court ban on these actions.

The issue of convening and holding an extraordinary Congress is governed by the norms of Article 19 of the UAF Statute, which contains requirements for the terms and conditions of such convening and holding. In particular, it is stipulated that the administration sends a written notice to the members of the UAF about the convening of an extraordinary congress no later than fifty days before the set date of its holding.

Thus, in order to avoid contesting the decisions of the supreme governing body of the UAF and the possible application of sanctions from FIFA and UEFA (including in the form of suspension of the membership of the UAF in these organizations and a ban on the participation of Ukrainian teams in competitions under their auspices), convening and holding a meeting of the supreme governing body of the UAF possible only with strict compliance with the norms of the UAF Statute, the requirements of the statutory documents of FIFA and UEFA.
