2023: what events await Ukrainian football in the new year

In the new year, 2023, new important events await our teams. We bring to your attention a preliminary calendar of official competitions, where there are already specific dates and opponents, with the participation of Ukrainian clubs and national teams.

January 24 draw will be held for the final Euro-2023 women's futsal tournament with the participation of the national team of Ukraine.

February 2 the draw for the Euro-2025 (U-21) qualifying tournament will be held.

February 8 within the contact round of the UEFA Youth League, Lviv "Rukh" will play against Italian "Inter" in Polish Stalova Wola, and Shakhtar Donetsk will meet Croatian "Hajduk" in Split.

February 16 "Shakhtar" will host the French "Rennes" in Warsaw, Poland, in the Europa League play-off round. On the same day, "Dnipro-1" will play away from Cyprus AEK in the knock-out round of the Conference League.

February 23 "Shakhtar" will play a return match against "Rennes". On the same day, Dnipro-1 will host AEK in Kosice, Slovakia.

February 25 the match between "Alexandria" and "Metalist 1925" will restart the season in the Vbet League.

March 3-9 the women's national team of Ukraine WU-17 under the leadership of Serhiy Sapronov will play in Group 6 of League B of the second round of the 2023 European Championship selection together with the teams of Bulgaria and Latvia. The mini-tournament will be held in Bulgaria.

March 7-13 the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in 2006) will meet Italy, Cyprus and Ireland in the elite round of Euro-2023 selection (U-17). Yuriy Moroz's wards will play in Cyprus.

On March 8 the Ukrainian national futsal team will finish its performance in the main round of World Cup 2024 selection with an away match against the Netherlands.

March 17-19 Debrecen, Hungary will host the third consecutive European Women's Futsal Championship. One of the participants of the competition will be the national team of Ukraine, Spain, Portugal and Hungary also made it to the final tournament.

March 21-26 the youth futsal team of Ukraine will meet with Romania, Serbia and the winner of group B of the previous round (Montenegro, San Marino, Gibraltar) within the framework of group 2 of the main round of Euro-2023 selection (U-19). Serbia will host the mini-tournament.

March 22-28 the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in 2004) will play against Spain, Denmark and Luxembourg in the elite round of Euro-2023 selection (U-19). Serhiy Nagornyak's wards will play in Spain.

On March 24 in Turkey, the youth national team of Ukraine will meet with the Danish team as part of preparations for Euro-2023 (U-21).

On March 26 the national team of Ukraine will start the Euro-2024 selection with an away match against England in London at Wembley Stadium.

On March 27 the youth national team of Ukraine plans to hold an away sparring match with Italy.

April 5-11 football players of the youth women's national team of Ukraine WU-19, led by Valery Palamarchuk, will play in Group 2023 of League A with the teams of Denmark, Sweden and Iceland in the second round of the 5 European Championship selection. The matches will be held in Denmark.

May 2, XNUMX GMT+XNUMX the draw for the premier UEFA Nations League among national women's national teams will take place.

16 June the national team of Ukraine will play away against North Macedonia in the selection of the European Championship. 19 June the blue-yellows will host the Malta team on their own field.

June 21 - July 8 Euro-2023 (U-21) will be held in Georgia and Romania. The youth national team of Ukraine got into group B, where they will play against Croatia (21 June), Romania (24 June) and Spain (27 June).

June 21 - July 2 the European Games will be held in Krakow, where the men's and women's beach soccer teams of Ukraine will perform.

August 6-12 men's and women's beach soccer teams of Ukraine will participate in the World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia.

September 9 the main team of the country in the selection of Euro-2024 will host England. September 12 the blue-yellows will play away against the reigning European champions, Italy.

October 14 the national team of Ukraine will host North Macedonia in the qualification for Euro-2024 on its own field. October 17 our boys will play against Malta on the road.

October 15-21 the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in 2007) will begin its journey in the qualification for Euro-2024 (U-17) together with Germany, Finland and Liechtenstein. Volodymyr Yezersky's wards will play in Liechtenstein.

November 15-21 the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in 2005) will begin its journey in the qualification for Euro-2024 (U-19) together with Slovakia, Kosovo and Malta. Oleh Kuznetsov's wards will play in Malta.

20 November the national team of Ukraine will finish its performance in Group C of the Euro-2024 qualifying tournament with a home match against Italy.

We add, that in the second half of the year, the youth national team of Ukraine will hold Euro-2025 (U-21) selection matches, and the national women's national team of Ukraine will play in the League of Nations. The match calendars of these teams will be determined after the draws held on February 2 and May 2, respectively.
