"We are preparing new reforms in the country that will change the socio-legal and political reality." Address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressed the people, talking about the preparation of new large-scale reforms in our country and what will make reliable and long-lasting peace indispensable.

"I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!

A brief report on today's day.

We are finalizing our preparations for the Ukraine-EU summit scheduled for this week. In general, the week should be full of European integration. We await news for Ukraine. We await the decisions of our partners in the European Union, which will correspond to the achieved level of interaction between our institutions and the EU and our progress. Progress, which is obviously there - even despite the full-scale war.

Today I held a long meeting with the international bloc of the government and the Office. We are preparing Ukrainian positions for negotiations with EU representatives.

And it is very important — we are preparing new reforms in Ukraine. Reforms, which in many aspects will change the social, legal and political reality — will make them more humane, more transparent and more effective. But these details will come later, based on the results of the relevant meetings.

I held several meetings with the military and the head of intelligence today - as in fact every day. We are working out the situation in detail in all main operational areas and in the future. What the occupier is preparing for, and what we are already responding to Russia's preparations for revenge.

Our defense and security forces, the state authorities of Ukraine, our partners — we all together direct our efforts so that Russia not only fails to win back on the battlefield, but also that the occupier loses its last hope of aggression in its attempts to retaliate. The loss of Russia will make reliable and long-lasting peace inevitable. I thank all our partners who support this position of Ukraine.

I spoke today with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. I informed him about the situation on the battlefield - about the constant assaults in Donetsk region, about the situation in the south and the existing threats. We discussed how to supplement our defense cooperation. The issues of sanctions and international isolation of Russia were separately touched upon.

In particular, I thank Justin for his understanding of our appeal to the international Olympic bodies to make no concessions to a terrorist state. The Olympic movement and international sports in general must be protected from Russia's fairly common attempts to politicize sports — we have seen this many times at different times. Now, Russian politicization of sports will inevitably mean the justification of terror. This cannot be allowed. And only together the free world can protect sports from those sports bureaucrats who for some reason are ready to close their eyes to reality.

I also spoke today with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander de Croo. He thanked for the powerful defense package that was approved recently. We discussed our cooperation at international platforms, in particular at the UN. Sanctions against Russia and the next sanctions package were discussed. They also talked about cooperation in the protection of sports and the Olympic movement against the propaganda of terror.

And one more.

Now there is a certain personnel lull... But this does not mean that all the necessary steps have already been taken. There will be solutions. Those in the system who do not meet the basic requirements of the state and society should not sit in their seats.

I thank everyone who protects the state! I thank everyone who fights for Ukraine!

I thank you for every preserved Ukrainian position at the front!

And thank you for every destroyed enemy position!

Glory to Ukraine!"
