UAF asked UEFA to take measures to prevent any matches involving the teams of the aggressor country

The Ukrainian Football Association sent a letter to UEFA and the Football Federation of Turkey, in which it expressed its indignation at the fact that, despite FIFA decision and the UEFA, matches are held with the participation of Russian teams.

"During the pre-season preparatory period, clubs in a number of countries hold friendly matches, including representatives of Russia. According to information from open sources and mass media, recently some of these matches took place in Turkey. Unfortunately, such matches may continue to take place.

As the war continues, taking daily lives of Ukrainians both on the battlefield and in their homes, hospitals, kindergartens, and the provisions of FIFA and UEFA regarding this situation remain unchanged, we state that matches with Russian teams are unacceptable and the participation of members of the European football family in their organization and directly in the game is a violation of UEFA regulations and an undermining of ethical principles and humanistic values.

We appeal to you to take measures against all those involved in order to avoid repeated gestures of disrespect and cases of violations of the sanctions rightly imposed by UEFA on teams from the aggressor country in the future, as inaction or lack of response and punishment for their illegal actions encourages terrorists to continue." - in particular, it is stated in the letter of the UAF.
