Oleg Shaitanov: "We got positive from the fact that we won, but there were enough unnecessary mistakes"

The head coach of the women's futsal team of Ukraine Oleg Shaitanov commented on the victory in the sparring match against the team of Slovakia.

Already in March, the women's futsal team of Ukraine will take part in the third European Championship in the history. As part of the preparations for the forum, the blue-yellow team went to Slovakia to hold sparring sessions with the local team. In the first game, the Ukrainian women won — 3:2. After the match, the head coach of our team Oleg Shaitanov shared his thoughts.

"A difficult game. We expected it to be difficult because all our previous matches were like that. We got positive from the fact that we won, but we had enough unnecessary mistakes. Therefore, let's analyze these points. I hope that we will look better in the second sparring session.

As for the newcomers, it was Vera Dyatel's first game, maybe not everything worked out. Anna Shulga returned after a long break, she really wanted to score, stand out in this match, but her emotions somehow prevented her from playing better.

As for the goalkeepers, I will not single out anyone, but they played in such a way that our three goals allowed us to win.

The girls will rest, we will make a theory, we will analyze the mistakes. I hope that in the second game we will look much better," Oleg Shaitanov said in the comments for press service of the Futsal Association of Ukraine.

We will remind, according to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, which includes the president of the UAF Andriy Pavelko, the final part of Euro-2023 in women's futsal from March 17 to 19 will hold Hungary. The matches of the four teams will be held at the Phoenix Arena in Debrecen.

One of the participants of the competition will be the national team of Ukraine. Spain, Portugal and Hungary also made it to the final tournament. On January 24, Debrecen took place of the draw, as a result of which the opponents of the blue-yellow team in the semi-finals were the Hungarians.

In the main selection round of the European Women's Futsal Championship, the matches of which were held in Poznań, Poland, the blue and yellow managed to take the first place in the quartet. In the first game, the national team of Ukraine defeated the Netherlands (5:2), in the second — defeated Croatia (5:1), and ended the mini-tournament with a draw with Poland (1:1). As a result, our team made it to the continental championship for the third time in history.

We will remind, the women's futsal team of Ukraine became a bronze medalist of the Euro-2022 final tournament, which was held in Portugal on July 1-3.
