WU-17: the girls' national team of Ukraine defeated Latvia and entered League A of the European Championship qualifiers
Today, March 6, the women's national team of Ukraine WU-17 played the second match of the second round of Euro-2023 selection in Bulgaria.
After the victory in the first match, against the Bulgarian team (2: 1), Serhiy Sapronov's wards met with the Latvian national team today.
There was no hard fight in this meeting. Already in the first half, our girls scored twice against the opponents: an own goal scored by Linda Mergup-Cartwright, plus Lydia Zaborovets made no mistake from the 11-meter mark.
After the break, the Ukrainians upset the goalkeeper of the Latvian national team three more times. Kateryna Yuzva, Maryna Ptitsyna and Diana Borovska set the final result of the match — 5:0.
Thus, the national team of Ukraine WU-17 secured first place in group B6 and, accordingly, entry into League A of the next cycle, Euro-2024.
