Euro-2023 (U-17). The youth national team of Ukraine lost to Ireland in the second match of the elite round of selection

Today, March 10, with a match against Ireland, the youth national team of Ukraine U-17 (football players not older than 2006) continued their performance in the elite round of Euro-2023 qualification.

In their first match of group 6, Yuriy Moroz's wards defeated the hosts of the tournament from Cyprus (4:2). Now, our guys met the Irish at the "Municipal Heroskipou" stadium in the city of Paphos.

The blue-yellow team started the match extremely unsuccessfully - as of the 12th minute, the attacker of the islanders, Melia, scored a double. In the future, the Ukrainians tried to fight back, but their shots usually lacked accuracy, and the goalkeeper of the Irish stood reliably.

In the 62nd minute, Melia scored the third time, thus eliminating the question of the winner. At the end of the meeting, the Irish were down to ten, but Yuriy Moroz's wards did not manage to win back even a ball.

Despite the defeat, the blue and yellow keep their chances of getting out of the group. Our boys will play the decisive match against Italy on March 13. Ukraine will be satisfied only with victory.
