The youth national team of Ukraine started its performance in the main selection round of the third European futsal championship (U-19) with a victory.

In group 2 of the main round of Euro-2023 selection (U-19), the opponents of the youth futsal team of Ukraine are Romania, Serbia and winner group In the previous stage — Montenegro. Mini-tournament accepts the Serbian city of Vrnjačka-Banja. Only the winner of the group will go to the European Championship.

The blue and yellow started with a match against Montenegro. From the first minutes, our boys took the initiative. In the 4th minute after the out, the Ukrainians took the lead — the ball flew into the net from Suzhnevich. Very soon, Skibchyk increased the advantage of our national team, taking advantage of Rybitsky's split pass.

Soon, Malinovsky hit the post, and the Montenegrins managed to spoil the score, taking advantage of a mistake by the Ukrainians in their own half. Subsequently, the teams exchanged moments for some time, until within one minute, Malinovsky scored a double. Before the break, after two corners, Yelishev scored his double, and Chetkovich cut the ball into his own goal. 7:1.

In the second half, our team did not slow down. Peletskyi and Tkachenko distinguished themselves with their doubles, and in the final 10 minutes, the blue-yellow team skillfully controlled the course of the game and again forced the opponents to hit their own goal.

So, at the start of the main round of the European Championship selection, Ihor Moskvichev's wards won a convincing victory — 12:1. Our boys will play their next match against the Romanians tomorrow, March 23 (starting at 20.00:XNUMX Kyiv time).

The format of the final tournament will remain the same: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, the best two of which will advance to the semifinals.

The debut European Futsal Championship among youth was held in 2019 in Riga, the second draw took place in 2022 in Jaen — both times (2019, 2022) the Spanish team became the champion. The second championship was originally planned for 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national team of Ukraine participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaly Odegova's wards took third place in the group, and in 2022 stopped in the semi-finals.
