The youth national team of Ukraine continued its performance in the main selection round of the third European Futsal Championship (U-19) with a victory.

In group 2 of the main round of Euro-2023 selection (U-19), the matches of which are hosted by the Serbian city of Vrnjačka-Banja, the blue and yellow team started with a confident victory over Montenegro (12:1). Now, Ihor Moskvichev's wards met with their Romanian peers.

Blue and yellow had several moments at the start of the match, in particular, Tkachenko hit the post. In the 6th minute, Rybitsky opened the scoring, completing the combination with the fifth after drawing an out. Soon after Fedyk served, Snitsarenko scored with a corner kick on the fly.

The Romanians soaked up the score in the 10th minute, when Peter, after an out, passed Dyachenko. However, by the end of the first half, goals after powerful shots by Snitsarenko and Tyutyurai provided our team with a comfortable advantage — 4:1.

After the break, Tkachenko scored the fifth goal of the blue and yellow team after a solo pass in the counterattack. The Romanians responded by hitting Strugariu into the post, and almost immediately after that, Malinovsky scored as a result of clipping the opponents.

Later, Tkachenko hit the post for the third time in the match. In the 34th minute, the teams exchanged goals with Chiresh and Belimov, and the goalkeeper of our national team scored into the opponents' empty net from his half of the field. Before the end of the meeting, the Romanians managed to score another goal.

So, in the second game of the main round of the European Championship selection, Ihor Moskvichev's wards won a convincing victory - 7:3. Our boys will play a decisive match against the Serbs on March 25 (starting at 20.00:XNUMX p.m. Kyiv time). To win the first place and a ticket to the final tournament, the Ukrainians will be satisfied with a draw.

Venue of the Euro-2022/2023 final tournament in futsal among young men under 19 years of age was identified Porec (Croatia). In addition to the hosts, the Croatians, seven national teams will play in the final stage from September 3 to 10, which will become known after the second round of qualification, which will be completed by March 26. The format of the final tournament will remain the same: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, the best two of which will advance to the semifinals.

The debut European Futsal Championship among youth was held in 2019 in Riga, the second draw took place in 2022 in Jaen — both times (2019, 2022) the Spanish team became the champion. The second championship was originally planned for 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national team of Ukraine participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaly Odegova's wards took third place in the group, and in 2022 stopped in the semi-finals.
