Euro-2023 (U-19). The youth national team of Ukraine lost to Denmark in the elite round of selection

Today, March 25, with a match against Denmark, the youth national team of Ukraine U-19 (football players not older than 2004) continued their performance in the elite round of Euro-2023 qualification.

In the first match of the group, Serhiy Nagornyak's wards lost to Luxembourg (1:2), so they found themselves in a difficult position. In the match against the Danes, which took place in the Spanish city of Almendralejo, the blue-yellow team had to take three points.

The teams traded points for a long time, until in the 31st minute, Tsarenko opened the scoring from a pass from Horbach. However, before the break, the Scandinavians managed to recover.

In the 50st minute, the Danes scored for the second time, so the blue and yellow had no choice but to go ahead. Slyubik, Pushkarev, Varfolomeev, Sigheev, Losenko were remembered for their attempts, but either they lacked accuracy or the opponent was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the end, the Ukrainian boys lost again with a score of 1:2 and, unfortunately, lost their chances to get to the Euro. Our team will play its next match on March 28 against Spain.
