WU-19: the youth women's national team of Ukraine ended the performance in the second round of Euro-2023 selection with a draw with the winner of the group

Today, April 11, the youth women's national team of Ukraine WU-19 completed its performance in the second round of Euro-2023 selection with a match against Iceland.

In the previous matches of group A5, the matches of which were hosted by Denmark, Valery Palamarchuk's wards lost to Sweden (0:5) and the host team1:5). Our national team, unfortunately, lost its registration in League A early, and in the last match of the quartet, it met Iceland, which, on the contrary, as the winner of the group, guaranteed itself a place in the European Championship.

The match took place in the city of Brondby. The Icelanders took the lead in the 31st minute, but before the break, the Ukrainians recovered thanks to a well-hit shot by Molodiuk.

In the second half, Molodiuk scored for the second time, but the rivals quickly regained their balance. In the end, the match ended in a draw - 2:2, so our girls scored one point. Be that as it may, the youth women's national team of Ukraine WU-19 will start the next season in League B. The draw for the first round of selection for Euro-2024 (WU-19) will take place on June 16.

In League A, 28 teams play in seven groups, including seven national teams that were promoted from League B following the results of the first round. The seven League A group winners from the second round (and the best second-place finisher if Belgium finishes first in the group) will qualify for the final stage, which will take place from July 18 to 30 in Belgium. The fourth-place teams in the groups will start the 2023/2024 season in League B.

Teams in League B, including those relegated from League A after the autumn stage, in seven groups (three with four participants, four with three) compete for tickets to League A in the first round of the next draw.
