WU-17: the women's national team of Ukraine beat the team of Azerbaijan at the UEFA Development Tournament

Ukrainian national team WU-17 started at the UEFA Development Tournament in Romania with a victory over peers from Azerbaijan.

In March, Serhiy Sapronov's wards won the right to be promoted in the class. In group B6 of the second round of Euro 2023 selection (WU-17), Ukrainian women thanks to victories over Bulgaria - 2:1 and Latvia - 5:0 secured the first step and return to the top division.

The almost completely renewed composition of the women's national team of Ukraine WU-17 (players born in 2007-2008), which will play in the autumn in League A of the first round of Euro-2024 selection, went to gain experience at the UEFA Development Tournament, which will be held from 23 until April 28 in Romania. And before that, with the support of the Romanian Football Federation, the girls held a short-term training camp (April 17-21).

Peers from Azerbaijan, Greece and Romania became rivals of Ukrainian women at the tournament. Today, the blue and yellow team met with the Azerbaijani women. Our team won 4:0, scoring all four goals in the first half. Olena Marceniuk scored a double, Evelina Kuptsova and Diana Tkachuk each scored a goal. Serhiy Sapronov's wards will play their next match against Greece on April 25.

According to the competition regulations, each team will play three matches. Three points will be awarded for a win, and in case of a draw, a series of post-match penalties will be held, the winner of which will receive two points, and the unlucky team in the football lottery will receive one point. The matches will take place in the National Football Center of the city of Buftia, which is 20 km from the capital, Bucharest.
