Euro-2023 (U-21). The first opponent of the Ukrainian national team in the final tournament, the Croatian team, changed its head coach

The youth national team of Croatia, which will be the first opponent of Ukraine in the final part of Euro-2023 (U-21), received a new head coach.

The Croatian Football Union has announced that Dragan Skosic has become the new coach of the country's youth national team. The 54-year-old specialist replaced Ihor Bishchan, who headed the Zagreb "Dynamo" in this position.

Skoshich's last place of work was the Iranian national team, which he led to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Croatian also coached Rijeka, Slovenian Interblok Ljubljana, Kuwaiti Al-Arabi, Saudi Al-Nasr, Iranian Malavan, Fulad, Rayka Babol and Sanat Nafta.

We will remind you that the Croatian national team will play in Group B of the final part of the Youth Euro-2023 together with Ukraine. The teams of Spain and Romania will also play in this quartet. The tournament itself will be held from June 21 to July 8 in Georgia and Romania. The match between the national teams of Croatia and Ukraine will take place on June 21 in Bucharest.

Let's add that as part of the preparations for the Euro, the Croatians played two friendly matches. On March 23 in Varazhdina, they played against Israel (0:0), and on March 28 in London - against England (2:1). In the same period, Ruslan Rotan's wards also took part in two sparring matches. On March 24, the blue and yellow team defeated Denmark in Belek (3:2), and on the 27th in Reggio di Calabria they gave way to Italy (1:3).
