On May 18-21, the Ukrainian national e-football team will play in the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 qualification play-offs
On May 18-21, the qualification play-offs of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 e-Football World Championship will take place. For the first time in history, the Ukrainian national team will take part in the decisive stage of the selection competition in the FIFA discipline, which is only one step away from reaching the world championship.
We will talk in more detail about the next stage of the FIFAe Nations Series 2023 and what the Ukrainian team needs to successfully overcome it.
FIFAe Nations Series 2023
The FIFAe Nations Series 2023 are played in the 2vs2 mode within FIFA 23 on the PlayStation 5 platform.
The competition consists of four stages: the first qualifying round (play-in), the second qualifying round (online qualification), play-offs and the final part of the World Cup.
Play-in lasted from December 2022 to March 2023. The national team of Ukraine spent all three game weeks of this round, for the first time in history managed to make it to Division 1, but in the end still took it third place in Division 2 of Conference 3.
In April, Ukrainian cyberfootball players completed online qualification at second position in group B and won over in the upper bracket of the knockout round, the Belgian national team — 4:3, joining the top 20 European teams from FIFA in the playoff stage.
Playoffs
The 20 strongest national teams within the European competition zone based on the results of the play-in and online qualification rounds were divided into three baskets to participate in the draw for the play-off round.
According to the results of the draw, the Ukrainian team won a place in group A. The opponents of the Ukrainian cyber football players at this stage of the tournament will be the national teams of Israel, Italy, Norway and Bulgaria.
The matches will be held in a round-robin "home and away" format in the BO1 format. 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
The first four teams of the group will make their way to the upper bracket. The team with the least number of points at the end of the group round will complete their performances in the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 qualifying cycle.
What awaits the national team of Ukraine
The national team of Ukraine, consisting of Oleksandr CIG Grishay Grishay and Andriy CIG ST92 Shakalov, will play eight group stage matches over two game days.
In order to qualify for the World Cup, our boys need to finish at least fourth in the group. The elimination matches in the upper and lower brackets will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21.
In total, the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 will see the 11 best teams compete in the play-off stage.
