On Sunday, May 28, two starting matches of the 29th round of the championship of Ukraine took place, in which the leaders of the tournament table took part.
"Shakhtar" and "Dnipro-1", which were separated by five points the day before, met at Arena Lviv. The players quickly took the lead thanks to Bondarenko's goal, scored with a shot from outside the penalty area. After the break, accurate shots by Sikan and Stepanenko removed the question about the outcome of the match. So the orange-blacks become the champions of Ukraine for the fourteenth time and get a pass to the group stage of the 2023/2024 Champions League.
Football players played in both teams, who got calls for the June training of the national team: for Shakhtar — Trubin (removed in the 90th + 3rd minute), Konoplia (replaced in the 31st minute), Bondar, Matvienko, Stepanenko (goal), Zubkov (goal assist, replaced in the 82nd minute), Sudakov; for "Dnipro-1" — Pikhalyonok, Dovbyk.
In a parallel match, "Zorya" defeated "Alexandria" and equaled the points with Dnipro. The fate of silver awards and a place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League will be determined in the final round in the away match between "Dnipro-1" and "Zora" (Dnipro-XNUMX have an advantage in personal meetings, so they will be satisfied with a result no worse than that of the competitor). The bronze medalist will start in the Europa League playoffs.
It was determined that "Dynamo" will finish fourth and will play in the third qualifying round of the 2023/2024 Conference League.
