May 2. On the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Football Day and for his historical contribution to the development of Ukrainian football, the winner of the "Golden Ball"-1975 and ex-coach of the national team of Ukraine Oleg Blokhin received from hands Andrii Pavelka, the "Legend of Ukrainian Football" order. 

"I am grateful to the Ukrainian Football Association and personally to Andrii Pavelko for the recognition and high evaluation of my work! Football is based on the connection of generations and their achievements, which are an incentive for the youth and very young fans of the game. I am proud of the fact that I represent the Ukrainian football school, that I had the opportunity to glorify Ukrainian football at the highest international level," said Oleg Blokhin.

May 2. Women's National Team of Ukraine learned the names of her opponents in the B League group stage of the first ever Nations League draw. According to the results of the draw, Luis Cortes' wards will compete in Group B3, where they will compete with teams from Poland, Serbia and Greece.

May 3. In the Football House there was a meeting Committee of the UAF on certification of football clubs with the participation of the first vice-president of the Ukrainian Football Association Oleg Protasov. Committee members considered the compliance of UPL clubs with the minimum licensing criteria in accordance with the requirements of the UEFA Regulations on Club Licensing and Financial Stability, which was approved by the UEFA Executive Committee in 2022.

May 4. Oleksandr Usyk became the ambassador of the Ukrainian national team. The WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight boxing champion will help the national football team in the implementation of a number of social projects.

"I thank Oleksandr for his patriotism and willingness to support and help the military, whom he often visits on the front lines! For the national team and our football community in general, participation in such social projects aimed at helping the rehabilitation of hero defenders is an extremely honorable mission.

Such support and the opportunity to distract from the war are also important for the soldiers themselves, who risked their lives to protect the independence of Ukraine. I am sure that such cooperation will also inspire the football players of the national team, where Cossack Usyk has many friends. Oleksandr, welcome to the team!" Andrii Pavelko noted after meeting with the ambassador of the national team.

May 5. Heads of the Ukrainian Football Association handed over servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out their tasks at the front, another car. The keys to the car were handed over to soldiers of the 128th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces in Dnipro by the first vice-presidents of the UAF Anatoly Demyanenko, Oleg Protasov, Oleksiy Mykhailichenko and Vadym Kostyuchenko. 

May 6. "Open football lessons" visited to Bila Tserkva in Kyiv region. Wonderful psychosocial football events for the communication of children of IDPs, military children of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and children affected by the war were organized by the Ukrainian Football Association, the Kyiv Union of Football Associations and the community of Bila Tserkva.

May 8. First vice-presidents of the Ukrainian Football Association Oleg Protasov and Vadym Kostyuchenko handed the 2021 Deflympiad champion Viktor Pustovit was awarded the UAF award.

May 9. Poltava region started the project "Open soccer lessons" in Myrhorod, uniting war-affected children through psychosocial soccer events. This event for children was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association, the Poltava Region Football Association and the Myrhorod community.

May 9. World Beach Soccer Organization (BSWW) for the second time this year updated the rating men's and women's national teams. May 10. Ukrainian National Team (players not older than 2007 year of birth) started at the UEFA Development Tournament in Slovakia against the hosts. Volodymyr Yezerskyi's wards played a draw in regular time - 1:1, but lost in the penalty shootout - 1:3.

The men's national team of Ukraine was drawn into group B along with the national teams of Switzerland, Italy and Moldova. The women's team will also play in Group B, where they will compete against the teams of Spain and Italy.

May 12. U-16 Youth Team of Ukraine lost in the second match at the UEFA Development Tournament in Slovakia. Volodymyr Yezersky's wards could not resist against Ireland - 1:3.

May 12. In the last round of the UAE Championship of the 2022/2023 season, "Al-Ain" of the captain of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Yarmolenko, coached by our specialist Serhiy Rebrov, defeated "Al-Batayeh" - 2:0. The Ukrainian football player was in the starting line-up and distinguished himself with two scored goals.

May 13. The Ukrainian Football Association honored the memory of legendary coach Valery Lobanovsky, whose heart stopped 21 years ago, on May 13, 2002. UAF representatives visited Lobanovskyi's grave at the Baikovo cemetery, and then gathered at the monument to Metro near the Dynamo stadium in Kyiv, which bears the coach's name.

"I sincerely congratulate the teams of Oleksandr Slobodian and Gennadiy Butkevich on this success! For the inhabitants of Zhytomyr, it is generally historical. The club will play in the UPL for the first time! "Kyani are returning to the top division after 11 years of absence," noted Andriy Pavelko.

May 15. Youth national team of Ukraine U-16 held the final match at the UEFA Development Tournament in Slovakia. The blue-yellow team won 4:0 thanks to goals from Danylo Pylypchuk, Ivan Lykholit, Artem Stepanov and Oleksandr Soroka. As a result, the Ukrainian boys took second place at the tournament.

May 15. The Slavic territorial community became the first in Lviv Oblast and the fourth in Ukraine to host the Ukrainian Football Association implemented the program FIFA "Search and development of young talents". UAF, with the support of the Slavska settlement council, PFC "Lviv" and the gas station chain "OKKO", conducted testing for children from 16 local schools. 600 boys and girls aged from seven to 12 took part in the three-day football tests.

May 16. The draw was held for the final tournament of the European Futsal Championship (U-19), which will be held on September 3-10 in Poreč, Croatia. According to his results, the youth national team of Ukraine have been drawn to group B, where they will play with Finland, Slovenia and Italy.

May 18. National team of Ukraine with FIFA started in the playoffs qualifiers for the eFootball World Cup — FIFAe Nations Cup 2023. The Ukrainian team finished the first day of the qualifying tournament in fourth place in Group A with six points.

May 19. An event was held in the village of Chernyatyn of the Severynivsk community within the framework of the "Open football lessons" project for children aged six to 12, organized by the Ukrainian Football Association, the Vinnytsia Regional Football Association and the Severynivsk community. 72 children took part in the event.

May 19. Another meeting of the UAF Committee on certification of football clubs took place. Management of the national association continued summarizing information regarding the current state of affairs of Ukrainian Premier League clubs in the process of admission to the competitions of the 2023/2024 season.

May 19. Football players and coaching staff of the youth national team of Ukraine made another contribution to help our soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Through joint efforts, the team purchased a car for the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in Kyiv at the Football House, the players of "Molodizhka" Volodymyr Brazhko and Arseniy Batagov handed it over to a volunteer from Dnipro, Kyril Kireev.

May 19. National team of Ukraine with FIFA held matches on the second game day in the e-Football World Championship qualification playoffs — FIFAe Nations Cup 2023. The Ukrainians finished the group stage of the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 selection in fourth place in Group A and made their way to the upper grid of the competition.

May 20. National team of Ukraine with FIFA held knockout round matches in the qualification playoffs of the e-Football World Championship - FIFAe Nations Cup 2023. The blue and yellow finished the FIFAe Nations Cup 2023 selection playoffs among the 16 best teams in Europe, failing to win one of the 11 tickets to the world championship.

May 22. The official website of UEFA reported that the match of the 6th round of the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament between the national teams of Italy and Ukraine, which will take place on September 12, will be played at the legendary Milan stadium "San Siro".

May 22. In Kamianka, Cherkasy region, at the local stadium a school festival was held "Open soccer lessons." The organizers of this event were the Ukrainian Football Association, the Cherkasy Regional Football Association and the Kamianka community, and the participants were students of the local Lyceum No. 1. After the event, each participant, in addition to a good mood, received a memorable gift in the form of a T-shirt with an inscription from the organizers, and the educational institution — sets of soccer balls and equipment necessary for soccer practice.

May 25. In the Football House a working meeting was held Andrii Pavelka with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Jennes de Mol. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on the joint implementation of a number of social projects aimed at the development of children's and youth football and support for migrant children, children of fallen soldiers-Heroes of Ukraine and other children who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.

"We met with Mr. Ambassador in December 2021, two months before the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. And since the time that has passed since then, Mr. Yennes and his wonderful homeland confirm every day that they are true and loyal friends of Ukraine. I am grateful for this to Mr. Ambassador and to the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands, where from February 24, 2022, around 100 of our fellow citizens found temporary shelter and support! It is pleasant that the productive football cooperation between the associations of our countries has also been going on for many years, for which I am always personally grateful to my Dutch colleague, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Justus Spee," noted Andrii Pavelko after the meeting.

May 26. Psychosocial support for war-affected children and IDP children through football was organized in the Kirovohrad Region by the Ukrainian Football Association, the Kirovohrad Regional Football Association, the Kirovohrad Regional Council and the community of Oleksandrivka. 72 children from Oleksandrivska TG and other regions of Ukraine, who were forced to move due to the war, took part in the "Open Football Lessons". 

May 26. Ukrainian national team announced the names of the players, called to participate in the June meeting, during which one friendly match and two Euro 2024 qualifying matches will be held. 

May 28. Donetsk "Shakhtar" defeated "Dnipro-1" (3:0), early won gold medals season-2022/2023 and received a place in the group round of the Champions League.

May 28. Lviv "Rukh" for the second time in a row became the best team of Ukraine in the U-19 championship. The yellow-black team made their achievement during the tour to the finish line. So "Rukh" will represent Ukraine in the UEFA Youth League for the second time in a row.

May 29. Striker Roman Yaremchuk will not be able to help the blue-and-yellow team during the upcoming training camp due to an injury that prevents him from recovering for the national team's matches in June. In this connection, to the national team of Ukraine forward is called Luhansk "Zora" Nazariya Rusyna. 

May 30. To the social project "Open football lessons" for children affected by the war, on the initiative of the Ukrainian Football Association and the Vinnytsia Regional Football Association actively participated Trostyanets community of Vinnytsia. This time, students and teachers of Demkiv high school, Letkiv, Oleksandriv, Kapustyan lyceum and Illashiv high school became participants in the project.

May 30. In the Football House a solemn ceremony took place awarding FC Shakhtar with UPL gold medals and the transitional trophy "Champion of Ukraine". The Donetsk club won the main trophy of the championship of Ukraine for the fourteenth time and received a direct pass to the group round of the Champions League.

May 31. The return match of the 2022/2023 amateur Cup of Ukraine final between "Druzhba" (Myrivka) and "Olympia" (Savintsi) took place in Kagarlyk. In the first match, the away victory of Druzhba was recorded (1:0), which in the return match in Kagarlyk defended a draw — 1:1. So the team from Mirivka became the owner for the first time Amateur Cup of Ukraine.

May 31. In the final confrontation in the Vbet Extra League of the 2022/2023 season, Kyiv "HIT" turned out to be stronger for Ivano-Frankivsk "Hurricane". The main confrontation in the playoffs stretched to a maximum of five matches, because the opponents exchanged two victories. In the decisive match in Ivano-Frankivsk, "HIT" won the victory - 3:2. Defeating the two-time champion of Ukraine, the Kyivans won gold medals for the first time in history.
