The midfielder of the national team of Ukraine, Heorhiy Sudakov, commented on the defeat in the Euro-2024 selection match against the Italian team (1:2).

"Now there is no point in looking for any excuses - we have to work. The Italians had the same game three days ago. So there is no point in saying anything about recovery.

My regrettable mistake was that I did not pick up the spikes... The first goal of the Italians greatly influenced the subsequent game. But we played quite well, Serhiy Stanislavovych praised us. We did everything we could. Of course, it was very difficult. With such support at San Siro, it is very difficult to play against such a team.

As you can see, such mistakes are not forgiven at this level. One mistake is enough for the opponent to score a goal. I want to apologize to my teammates, fans, because at this level I should not make such mistakes. There are no trifles in football.

We understand that we need to add a lot, work. We will believe that we have every chance to get out of the group. We have three more matches ahead of us, so we are preparing for them.

Possession of the ball in matches against such opponents? Everything is possible, first of all it depends on the head, the mentality. It is very difficult to play against England or Italy, because the name of the national team comes first, they immediately start to take the initiative.
