Futsal World Cup 2024. The national team of Ukraine started in the elite round of selection with a crushing victory over Belgium
Oleksandr Kosenko's wards started in the elite round of selection for the 2024 World Futsal Championship with an away match against the Belgium team, which was held in Rusdal.
In March, the Ukrainian futsal team took it first place in group 11 of the main selection round of the World Cup-2024 and made it to the elite round of qualification. According to the results of the draw the blue-yellow team ended up in Group B, where their opponents were the teams of Poland, Serbia and Belgium. Oleksandr Kosenko's wards started in the quartet with an away game against the Belgians.
The Ukrainians took the lead already in the 1st minute — Shoturma made a great shot after Shved's pass from a corner. Then Tsypun bailed out our team by defeating Dillien in melee. In the future, the opponents exchanged dangerous blows between Farenyuk and Greglio.
At the equator of the first half, the Ukrainians tripled their advantage. First, Chernyavskyi and Pedyash brilliantly played the standard, and later Shved played an out with Shoturma and hit the far corner. In the 12th minute, El-Fakiri scored one goal, but the blue-yellow team quickly responded with goals by Melnyk from a free kick and Abakshin in a counterattack. Shortly before the break, Abakshin closed the passes of Melnyk and Zvarych, completing a hat trick.
In the second half, the guests continued to increase their advantage. First, Pedyash intercepted the ball and hit the target with a powerful shot. Later, Shoturma made a graceful pass and led Korsun to the other half, and Korsun sent the ball into an empty net after a keeper's mistake. At the end of the match, El-Fakiri won one goal, and in the penultimate minute, Fareniuk scored with a header after Savenko threw in. So the final result is 10:2 in favor of the national team of Ukraine.
In the next Group B match, the blue-yellow team will host Poland in the Hungarian city of Beretjouifal. The game will take place on September 20 (starting at 19.00 Kyiv time).
