Women's League of Nations-2023/2024. Today, the national team of Ukraine will start a match against Serbia (live - from 16:00 on the UAF YouTube channel)

On September 22 and 26, the national women's team of Ukraine will play its first matches in the group tournament of the debut draw of the UEFA Nations League.
The new European selection of Ukrainian women will begin under the guidance of a new mentor. We remind you that the contract expired on August 31 Spanish specialist Luis Cortes, who became the first foreign coach in the history of the national women's team of Ukraine. Thus, the blue-yellow team will start the new season under the leadership of acting head coach Volodymyr Pyatenko.

On September 17, our team gathered in Kyiv, after which she went to Poland to prepare and participate in the first two matches of the group tournament of the debut draw of the League of Nations. On the 18th, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Gdańsk, and from Monday to Thursday the team worked at the base in Sopot, where they combined training with theoretical classes.
We will remind you that 23 female soccer players were included in the national team of Ukraine, and for the first time three players were invited to join the ranks of the national team at once - Yana Kotyk, Iryna Maiborodina and Viktoriya Golovach.

"The League of Nations is a very relevant format of international competitions for national teams today. Previously, there were control matches and friendly tournaments, but in this system, the national teams have an order of magnitude higher motivation. After all, the team can go to the European Championship from the League of Nations. Such a tournament is very difficult to overestimate. We have a good selection of opponents in the group. In the same national team of Poland, soccer players who are in leading roles in the German championship play. But we are ready to give them a fight. Everything will be determined by those who are better suited functionally, tactically and psychologically to each game," — said the day before, the coach of the blue and yellow Volodymyr Pyatenko.
