Women's League of Nations-2023/2024. The Ukrainian national team lost to the Polish team in Gdynia
Today, with a match against Poland, the women's national team of Ukraine continued its struggle in the group round of the first ever Nations League draw.
On September 22, our team started the tournament with a match against Serbia, but, unfortunately, being in the lead, lost — 1:2. Now Volodymyr Pyatenko's wards were expecting an away match in Gdynia against Poland, which defeated Greece 3:1 in the last round.

The first half began in an equal struggle, but over time the home team took the initiative. In the 12th minute, Padilla sent the ball into the net, but the referees ruled her offside. Later, the teams exchanged blows with Semky and Kamchyk in the plane.
In the 20th minute, Payor, after a cross from Padilla, scored next to the post. However, soon the captain of the Polish national team opened the score, closing Grabowska's pass from the left wing. Later, Samson saved our team after Padilla's shot from a few meters.

In the second half, the Poles continued to have a significant advantage. First, Padilla hit the target from a distance, later the Ukrainians blocked several shots of their rivals, then Samson made two great saves after dangerous shots by Payor. However, in the 67th minute, the latter made a double, closing Matysik's pass from the right wing.
The Ukrainian women managed to win back one goal at the end of the match — Shmatko blocked Petryk's pass from a free kick. However, the blue-yellow team did not manage to draw at least, even though the rivals played in the minority. 2:1 in favor of Poland.

As a reminder, the venue for the matches of the 3rd and 4th rounds, respectively, is already known Greece — Ukraine and Ukraine — Greece. The matches will be held on October 27 and 31 in Heraklion at the stadium of the local OFI club - Teodoros Vardinoyannis. Game start times will be determined at a later date.

Fourth-placed teams are relegated to League B.
League B
The four group winners advance to League A.
The four second-placed teams play in tie-breaks against the third-placed national teams in League A. The winners will play in League A; the losing teams will play in League B.
The three best third-placed teams play head-to-head matches against the three best second-placed teams in League C. The winners play in League B within the European qualifiers; the losing teams will play in League C.
The lowest-ranked third-placed team and the four fourth-placed teams advance to League C.
League C
The five group winners advance to League B.
The three best second-placed teams play head-to-head matches with the three best third-placed teams in League B. The winners play in League B within the European qualifiers; the losing teams will play in League C.
Other teams remain in League C.
Class promotion/relegation matches
Pairs are formed by drawing lots, matches are played at home and away. The teams that took the third places in their groups are considered seeded and the return matches are held at home.
