The men's beach soccer team of Ukraine will not play at the 2024 World Cup in the UAE
The Ukrainian beach soccer team will not play at the World Cup, which will be held on February 15-24, 2024 in the United Arab Emirates. the club's press service reports Beach Football Association of Ukraine (APFU).
The wards of Mykola Kostenko and Oleksandr Korniychuk won one of the four passes from Europe, but the Belarusian national team also qualified for the World Championship in Dubai.
APFU and UAF appealed to FIFA and BSWW with a request to exclude the Belarusian team from the competition due to the fact that this team represents a country that is an accomplice of the terrorist regime of Russia and is an accomplice in armed aggression against Ukraine.
But the football officials refused to do this, as they also rejected the proposal that the Belarusians play without their national symbols.
Pursuant to Order No. 4435 of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine dated July 26, 2023, which prohibits participation in international competitions where athletes/teams representing the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus also compete, the Ukrainian beach soccer team will not play at the 2024 World Cup in the UAE.
