Vbet Cup of Ukraine-2023/2024: in the 1/4 finals — with Shakhtar, but without Dnipro-1 and Dynamo

Seven matches of the 26/27 finals of the Vbet Cup of Ukraine for the 1/8 season took place on September 2023-2024.

At this stage, the eight best teams of the previous UPL draw, as well as the winners, perform fourth preliminary stage, among which two are teams of the first league. Moreover, in Sumy, the local "Victoria" defeated "Minay" (1:0), so it will represent its division in the quarter-final round.

"Shakhtar" beat "Veres" in Rivne, scoring three goals in the second half. The hero of the meeting was Bondarenko, who first assisted Kashchuk, and soon scored a handsome goal himself. The match in Zhytomyr turned out to be bright, where "Polyssia" won at the end of regular time, and then won a penalty shootout over "Dnipro-1".

The main sensation was the relegation of "Dynamo", which lost to "Obolon" in the Kyiv derby - 0:1. In the 57th minute, Sukhanov put the "brewers" ahead with a spectacular shot, and at the end of the match, Kychak's skill and the crossbar prevented the white-blue team from winning back.

In other matches, Oleksandria and Chornomorets earned passes to the next round thanks to goals in the final minutes, while Vorskla defeated Metalist 1925 3-0.

Football players took part in the matches of the 1/8 finals, who got calls for the October training session of the national team: as part of Shakhtar — Konoplia, Sudakov (replaced in the 76th minute), Nazarina, Zubkov (replaced in the 46th minute, goal assist), Stepanenko (replaced in the 76th minute), in the ranks of "Dynamo" - Popov, Karavaev, Yarmolenko, Buyalskyi (yellow card).
