Oleksandr Kosenko: "Thank you guys, we need to continue preparing so that our work is not in vain"

Oleksandr Kosenko, head coach of the Ukrainian futsal team, commented on the victory over Serbia (6:1) in the elite round of World Cup 2024 qualification. The words of the mentor of the blue-yellows lead the Futsal Association of Ukraine press-service reports,.

— The national team of Ukraine played against all opponents in the group. She lost to the Poles and defeated the Belgians and Serbs. Can you tell who will be the hardest to play against in the next three matches?

— It won't be easy with anyone, because all teams understand that every next match is like a playoff, like a cup game. With each match it will be more and more difficult, so you have to adjust. Now it depends on us, we must keep this opportunity. Hold and don't let go. You need to play.

— In all matches in which Ukraine won at this group stage, your wards scored a quick ball. Is this your instruction to press from the first seconds?

— Every team wants to score a quick goal so that it is possible to play for the result. When you have a ball or two in reserve, it's easier to play. My advice is to play from the first minutes. And if it is possible to score from the first minutes, then this is the work of the boys. Every work is rewarded with such games. Therefore, thank you guys, we must continue to prepare so that our work is not in vain.

— We actually play all matches away from home. From the first seconds, there was perhaps the most tense atmosphere in this hall, a whistle. What was going through your mind when you heard it?

- We understood that it would be like that. We understood where we were playing and that was an additional incentive for us to win. I will not say extra words, everyone understands what I mean. Therefore, it is quite a victory, but everything will be decided in the end. But in order for everything to be resolved in the end, you have to go from match to match and try to play, and the result will come.
