Euro-2024 (U-17): the youth national team of Ukraine lost to the German team in the third match

Today, October 21, with a match against Germany, the U-17 youth national team of Ukraine completed the struggle in the qualifying round of Euro-2024.

At the start of the mini-tournament in group 3, the blue-yellow team shared the points with the Finns (2:2), after which they defeated the hosts from Liechtenstein — 7: 0.

Today in Vaduka, Ukraine, as the leader of the group, met with Germany, and to enter the next round of selection of Volodymyr Yezerskyi's wards, a draw was arranged.

The first half was dominated by the Germans, who scored dangerously several times — in particular, Izekor, Onyeka, and Sauk. And Stange even scored the ball, but the referee correctly disallowed it due to offside.

After the break, the Bundesteam increased the pressure and in the 53rd minute achieved their goal - after Cherna's cross from the wing, Izekor scored with an accurate header. He also threatened Petrenko's goal three more times. The Ukrainians tried to counterattack, but, unfortunately, it did not bring success. The Germans controlled the course of the match, in the end achieved victory and took the first place in the group.

As for the national team of Ukraine, its fate will be decided in a few weeks, when the mini-tournaments in the other groups will end. Among the third teams, the five best out of 13 will advance, and with one golden point and a goal difference of 2-3, the blue-yellow team can claim one of the tickets to the elite round of selection.
