Coaches from Dnipro, Chernihiv and Mykolaiv underwent a retraining program to obtain a UEFA C-license with EORE elements

On October 17-21, a training course was held in Chernivtsi to retrain coaches to obtain a UEFA C-license, which includes components of training on the risk of using explosive objects (EORE).

The practical-methodological seminar brought together trainers from Dnipro, Chernihiv and Mykolaiv, also new participants were joined by the participants of past courses - trainers from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions.

We would like to remind you that the hybrid educational program for obtaining a coaching diploma of category C with elements of EORE started working in Ukraine last year thanks to the support of our international partners - the US State Department and the Spirit of Soccer organization, as well as the cooperation of the Amateur Football Association of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Football Association.

With its Spirit of Soccer program, it covers several regions of Ukraine most affected by Russia's military aggression, with the aim of informing the population about the risks associated with explosive objects and increasing the resilience of communities to the consequences of military actions. The expansion of the program reflects the project's desire to meet the needs of communities at risk throughout Ukraine.

This training program is of great importance to child, youth and grassroots football coaches, as it provides the necessary qualifications and experience to effectively implement EORE in the context of their coaching activities. By integrating EORE into existing coaching courses, the Spirit of Soccer project ensures that coaches acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for further effective and successful work.

The training process of retraining for obtaining a UEFA C-license with EORE elements involves a structured approach and providing coaches with comprehensive instructions and support. International and Ukrainian experts are involved in the teaching: the founder of the Spirit of Soccer organization Scott Lee, the international coordinator and training expert of Spirit of Soccer Hennadiy Skurtul, the development manager of the Football Federation of Moldova Oleg Molchanov, the instructor of Spirit of Soccer Ukraine Bohdan Gorodniuk. We also express our gratitude for the support of the project to the sports and technical department of the Ukrainian Football Association and UEFA technical expert and UAF curator Dariush Pasetsi.

During the training course, participants got acquainted with innovations in working with young football players and the method of using EORE rules in football training, and lectures on technical and tactical training of players, peculiarities and modern trends in teaching and practical activities of coaches added to the baggage of previously acquired knowledge.

The coaches consolidated the acquired knowledge and skills at the final festival, which took place at the Bukovyna stadium and gathered about 70 local young football players of various ages. Children and teenagers, including girls, enthusiastically accepted the game exercises with the main messages of EORE ("Stay away!", "Don't touch!", "Report!", "Communicate!"), faithfully followed the recommendations of the trainers, and how a pleasant bonus — we received commemorative gifts from Spirit of Soccer.

This indicates the constant all-round development of the project's coaching team and the dissemination of relevant expert information to new regions. By dividing training into stages, the project can provide attention and personalized support to each of the trainers, maximizing the overall effectiveness of the training program.

Spirit of Soccer Ukraine continues to work on the sports front and implement a common goal — preserving the life of every child and the safety of every family!
