Euro-2025 (U-21): the youth national team of Ukraine beat the team of Azerbaijan in Murcia

Today, November 21, in Murcia, Spain, the youth national team of Ukraine held its next match in the Euro-2025 (U-21) qualifying tournament against Azerbaijan.

The current selection cycle of the European Championship, the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in 2002 and younger), led by the Spaniard Unai Melgosa, started with four victories in a row. Four days ago, the blue-yellow team confidently beat the Luxembourg team (4:0), and today, again in Murcia, they received peers from Azerbaijan.

In the first half, our boys had a total advantage. At the start of the match, the hosts of the field hit the frame three times: Ocheretko — from a corner, Voloshyn — after Roman's cross, Brazhko — from a free kick. Krasnopir also stood out at the edge of the attack, scoring several shots on goal. The Ukrainians opened the scoring in the 34th minute, when Voloshyn earned a penalty, and Brazhko confidently converted it.

At the beginning of the second half, the Azerbaijanis created their moment — Nescheret pulled a dangerous shot from Jafarov. In general, Ukrainians controlled the development of events. In the 61th minute, Brazhko shot past the goal from a distance. Later, Rubchynsky brought Ocheretka into a striking position, whose shot was blocked.

In the 77th minute, the opponents again got to the goal of Nescheret, but Ruslan did not allow Akhundzade to beat him. The Ukrainians responded with Kucheryavoy's shot over the crossbar from Vivcharenko's pass. The end of the game turned out to be somewhat nervous, but the blue and yellow managed to win the last match of the year - 1:0.
