"We played these five matches flawlessly." The players of the youth national team of Ukraine — after the victory over Azerbaijan in the selection of Euro-2025

On November 21, the youth national team of Ukraine defeated Azerbaijan in the Euro-2025 selection match (U-21) - 1:0 and with five victories in five matches confidently leads the table of group F. After the game blue-yellow footballers shared their impressions.

Ruslan Nescheret (goalkeeper): "It was a difficult game, maybe because Azerbaijan defended very well. There were moments that we had to implement, crossbars. We deservedly won, but the opponents have a good team, playing well. Such a result, I think, is natural. We achieved the goal that the coach set for us. I believe that we played these five matches flawlessly before the winter break. That's why everything is great."

Volodymyr Brazhko (midfielder): "There were problems on the field, many opportunities were not implemented. We need to work on execution and improve our defensive game, because every opponent creates problems for us. It is necessary to develop and work further.

I knew that I would score a penalty, although the Azerbaijanis tried to knock me down. But I didn't pay attention and calmly scored. Of course, it's nice, but I want the team to score more goals. Until the last minutes, there were moments near our goal, which was very dangerous.

When you're winning on the go, it adds more responsibility. If you are in the first place, then there is more motivation to work further. We need to work and win in every match in order to go directly to the Euro."

Konstantin Vivcharenko (defender): "The game can be divided into two stages. The first half was better in terms of rhythm and quality of play, in the second we sat down and did not attack as well. The coach congratulated us on the victory and the game to zero. Of course, there is work to be done. He said he was worried, but we won - that's the most important thing. Excellent result, excellent work of the team and coaching staff. Everyone is satisfied that we are spending this year with a victory."
