In previous matches on the fields of the Cidade do Futebol sports complex in Lisbon, Dmytro Mykhayenko's team lost to Portugal (0:3) and defeated Italy in a penalty shootout (3:3, on penalties — 4:3).

Today, the Ukrainians met with the Turkish team in the final match of the tournament. At the beginning of the first half, our opponents took over the territorial advantage, but later the blue-and-yellows equalized the game and created at least three sharp moments near the Turkish team's goal. Unfortunately, our players failed to break through goalkeeper Salchi. At the same time, the Turks also had a good chance to open the score, but their forward Esad Deniz did not use it.

At the beginning of the second half, Dmytro Mykhayenko's team did take the lead. In the 53rd minute, Artem Rybak shot from a long distance, the goalkeeper parried, but Ilya Bodak was the first to finish - 1:0. Six minutes later, Zakhar Osmukhin broke into the opponent's penalty area from the left flank, but was knocked down by a push in the back. The referee without hesitation pointed to the spot, and the injured player himself converted the penalty, doubling the blue-and-yellows' advantage. 

The match was put to an end by Ruslan Dyachok, who shot the Turks' goal from close range. So, 3:0 — a victory for the Ukrainian national team, which ultimately took third place in the UEFA Development Tournament.
