Head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team Iya Andrushchak after the match against the Spanish national team (1:3) in the World Cup qualifiers answered questions from the official website of the Ukrainian Football Association.

Comment on the start of the selection for the Ukrainian national team.

— We wanted to play with such opponents, these are the top national teams that exist today: European champions, world champions. We wanted the girls to feel in these matches that they can match this level. Yes, we lost in two matches. In the second match, it was noticeable that we drew conclusions after the first match. Against Spain, we were more courageous, more insistent up front. The football god rewarded us. I think this will give the girls self-confidence. Such matches show that we have a lot to work on: technically, tactically, physically. The match against Spain is like an advance for us. An advance of faith that we can play and impose a fight at this level.

Who was harder to play against - England or Spain?

— The rivals are the same in class, they just have a slightly different style. The Spanish are a little faster, more technical. They open the flanks more through combinations. The English team is more forceful. And, of course, there is no shortage of combinations there either.

What did they say to their wards?

— We summed up our entire meeting in general. We thanked everyone for their work and gave instructions for the time until the next meeting.
