The Ukrainian Football Association announces the appointment of a new head coach of the national team.

Andrea Maldera has become the new head coach of the Ukrainian national team. The candidacy of the Italian specialist was approved by the UAF Executive Committee upon submission to the National Teams Committee. The contract with Andrea Maldera is designed for two years with an option to extend.

Thus, for the first time, the Ukrainian national team was led by a foreign coach.

Biographical information

Andrea Maldera was born on May 18, 1971.

During his career, he worked as an assistant head coach at Milan (Italy), Brighton (England) and Marseille (France). 

In 2016-2021, he was Andriy Shevchenko's assistant in the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team.
