The birth of the Professional Football League marked the transition of the Ukrainian championship to a new stage of development. Then, in 1996, the PFL became the first organization in Ukraine to take on the development of professional football competitions.

During its existence, the management and staff of the PFL have demonstrated the ability to adapt to changes and demands of the time. Namely, the unification of the clubs of the first and second leagues has sometimes been an example of mutually beneficial cooperation for other subjects of Ukrainian football.

The Ukrainian Football Association sees the PFL as a reliable partner for further improving the professional football system in our country.

Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences: "I congratulate the PFL on its founding day. For 30 years, competitions have been held under the auspices of the league and new football stars have been born. The PFL today is a solid foundation of professional football. These competitions are always unpredictable and intriguing. PFL clubs showed very good results in the Ukrainian Cup this year, which indicates the right vector of development and good competition."
