First steps

After declaring independence, Ukraine created its own national team, which played its debut match in 1992 against Hungary.

Entering the international arena

The team performed consistently in the qualifiers for the World and European Championships. In 2006, Ukraine made it to the World Championship for the first time.

Forming a new generation

After their success in Germany, the team underwent a generational change. Andriy Shevchenko became a symbol of a new era in Ukrainian football.

Euro on home turf

Ukraine, together with Poland, hosted the 2012 European Championship.

New style of play

Under Shevchenko's leadership, the team began to demonstrate modern attacking football.
