UEFA has opened proceedings against FC Roma because of the so-called DNR symbolism

The UEFA disciplinary and ethical inspector has launched proceedings against FC Roma for the appearance of the so-called "DPR" team's symbols in the stands of the stadium.

This is stated in an official letter received from UEFA, told the site ffu.ua President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko. The letter also states that the UEFA Disciplinary Committee will consider the matter on 31 May.

"The Football Federation of Ukraine is grateful to UEFA for the prompt response and the commencement of proceedings for the appearance in the stands of banned symbols of pro-Russian terrorist groups fighting against Ukraine in the Donbas. Together, we must do everything possible to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in matches held under the auspices of the FFU, UEFA and FIFA. We also hope that in the near future such symbols will be officially banned by FARE. We will not allow the use of football to promote terrorism, extremism or discrimination, "Andriy Pavelko stressed.  

It will be recalled that the FEU sent a request to UEFA on March 1 to request disciplinary proceedings against the so-called DNR flag during the 8/13 final match of the Roma Champions League between Shakhtar and Rome, which took place in Rome on March 2018, 16. On March 29, the Football Federation of Ukraine sent an appeal to FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe, an organization that fights racism and xenophobia in European football) with a request to add the symbols of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" to the list of prohibited for demonstration at football matches .
