Sergiy Shevtsov: “Happy to have won a victory in a cup match”

Director of IFC "Crystal" Sergei Shevtsov shared his impressions of cup confrontation Kherson team with Novokakhovka "Energy".

- This match had a special subtext. Teams from one region met. In such cases, the responsibility for the result increases. It is gratifying that in a draw Kherson managed to snatch victory: during one of the rapid attacks Andriy Barladym scored a goal, and although at the end of the match the hosts stubbornly stormed our goal, but we not only survived, but could still excel by taking counterattacks. I hope that the players of "Crystal" will not stop there, we really want an elite team to visit Kherson.

- We used to see you on the coaching staff, but after the return of "Crystal" to the second league, you headed the football club «

- You know, this does not prevent me from actively helping acting head coach Oleksandr Ovchinnikov, who until recently played under my leadership for "Crystal" as a winger. When last year in Kherson, thanks to the efforts of city authorities, they decided to create a municipal FC and offered me to be at its helm, I immediately agreed, because I realized that I could benefit, because I already had experience of club work, working in Novokahovka "Energy". So far, it is a sin to complain. What we were promised is being fulfilled, and our task is to respond to it with spectacular football.

- Are you satisfied with the selection work? What is the task facing the team?

- Newcomers live up to expectations, but we are in active search. So far, 17 players have applied for Crystal, and we think that in the near future we will strengthen four or five more performers, which will increase the competition for a place in the starting lineup. As for the task for the season, we want to make it to the top five in Group B. However, the main thing is to bring the fans back to the stadium with their game.
