The start of the Blue and Yellows in the new League of Nations tournament has brought a lot of positive emotions. The Ukrainian national team demonstrated offensive football, had the advantage and won a well-deserved victory.

Andriy Shevchenko's team, which started the game, included one debutant - striker Roman Yaremchuk, who also became the first representative of the Belgian "Ghent" in the national team.

The game started with a delay due to lighting problems at the stadium in Uherské Hradiště, and its beginning was successful for the hosts. Already in the 4th minute Shik entered the penalty area of ​​the Ukrainians and, despite the opposition of Kryvtsov, struck a powerful blow to the near corner, which Pyatov could not cope. 1: 0. Later the game acquired a positional character. The Ukrainians combined for a long time in the opponent's half of the field, but there were few strokes, and shots from outside the penalty area did not reach the goal. Twice Malinowski was given the opportunity to fire his own branded shot from the penalty spot, once he struck quite dangerously, but Vaclik acted reliably.

The pressure of the guests showed under the curtain of time. A well-played combination, in which each of the attacking players showed high skill, led to a goal. Marlos took on three opponents, went to the Czech penalty area and made a cross. Yarmolenko misled his opponents by elegantly passing the ball to Konoplyanka, and the Schalke midfielder, rocking the defender, struck irresistibly into the bottom corner. 1: 1.

In the 49th minute Konoplyanka lost a great opportunity to make a double without hitting the goal after a pass from Matvienko. The guests did not limit themselves to this, continuing to dominate in the second half. Yarmolenko, Zinchenko, again Konoplyanka, Tsygankov and Seleznyov had opportunities to score. The advantage of the players of the national team of Ukraine in individual skill was quite noticeable, but it was possible to embody it in the goal only in overtime. Tsygankov made a forceful pass from the left flank, the Czech goalkeeper and the defenders acted inconsistently, and the ball after a few ricochets was in Zinchenko, who set the final score.
