Midfielder of the national team of Ukraine Yevhen Konoplyanka went to the starting lineup of Schalke for the away match of the third round of the group round of the Champions League against Galatasaray.

At the end of the first half, the Ukrainian had a great opportunity to score a goal, but after a powerful shot by Konoplyanka, Istanbul was saved by goalkeeper Fernando Muslera. Konoplyanka was substituted in the 77th minute, and the game itself ended in a draw.

After three rounds, with five points, Schalke is in second place in the D quartet.
